I was born and raised in Western Illinois, graduating from Alwood High School in 1985. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1989 with a degree in Agricultural Industries. In 1995, I received my law degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.

After graduation, I returned to Western Illinois to practice law. My wife and I enjoy living in Galesburg and find it a great place to raise our three children.
